Professional Development Program for RTOs
Strengthening Tasmania’s VET Workforce
Skills Tasmania is committed to building a stronger, more connected Vocational Education and Training (VET) system. A key action in the Tasmanian Skills Plan 2024–2028 is to support the existing VET workforce with targeted professional development and networking opportunities. This includes helping trainers put learners first and tailor training to local and industry needs.
With support from the Australian Government through the National Skills Agreement, Skills Tasmania has developed a calendar of professional development and capability‑building opportunities for 2026. The program is designed to help grow and retain high‑quality VET teachers, trainers and assessors working for Skills Tasmania‑eligible Registered Training Organisations (RTOs).
The Professional Development Program will provide practical, contemporary learning opportunities that respond directly to sector needs. The program aims to:
- Deliver tailored, high‑value PD sessions
- Support trainers and assessors to build capability
- Reduce cost and availability barriers to PD
- Strengthen the quality and sustainability of the VET workforce
- Create opportunities for RTOs to connect and collaborate.
Registration information:
Registration information will be provided directly to eligible RTOs in advance of the scheduled sessions.
