Tasmanian Regional Employment Projections Dashboard

2026 Update

This draft dashboard provides regional employment projections for Tasmania, updated in 2026.

Users can explore employment projections by occupation, industry and region.

To view the dashboard in full screen mode, select the double-headed arrow in the bottom right corner. Press the Esc key to return to the normal view.

What has changed in the 2026 update?

The dashboard has been refreshed with new economic, budget and major infrastructure project data.

The 2026 update includes a new design, and additional information about vocational education and training pathways into occupations.

Users can now view specific qualifications linked to different occupations. This information is based on the new Jobs and Skills Australia Training Occupation Pathways dataset.

Feedback

The 2026 dashboard is currently a beta version. Users are encouraged to explore the dashboard and provide feedback on the content.

Please send feedback to vetresearch@skills.tas.gov.au.

Skills Tasmania will review feedback in the month following this beta release, and use it to inform the final dashboard, expected in September 2026.

Data caveats

Any economic projection is inherently uncertain, as global, national, and local conditions can change unpredictably.

The employment projections in this dashboard are based on projections for economic and population growth, trade, investment, consumption, and expenditure. Employment projections reflect the current macroeconomic outlook and available input data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics.

Therefore, these projections should be considered indicative. Smaller figures in detailed breakdowns should be interpreted with caution. Data presented in this dashboard is preliminary and may be subject to change in the final release.
