Apprentice and Trainee Training Fund
Skills Tasmania’s Apprentice and Trainee Training Fund (ATTF) provides grant funding to eligible Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) to deliver subsidised training, assessment and learner support services for Tasmanian apprentices and trainees. The Fund aims to attract, retain and support apprentices and trainees to successfully complete their training, equipping them with the skills, knowledge and capabilities required to contribute to Tasmania’s current and future workforce needs.
The Fund is a rolling program that is released annually. Applications for the 2027 round close on 1 December 2027.
Eligibility
Applicant eligibility
To be eligible to apply applicants must meet each of the following eligibility criteria both at the time of applying, and for the duration of any subsequent funding agreement:
- be a Skills Tasmania eligible Registered Training Organisation (RTO), which includes TasVET Suppliers and RTOs previously ‘Endorsed’ by Skills Tasmania
- have the qualification(s) included on the RTO’s scope of registration for delivery in Tasmania
- be financially viable
- have a current contract of public liability insurance for at least $20 million for:
- each individual claim; and

Current TasVET Suppliers are not required to provide evidence of financial viability or public liability insurance. All other applicants must provide financial statements for 2023, 2024 and 2025 and evidence of the public liability insurance specified above with their application. If FY2025 financial statements are not available, applicants must provide management accounts from Xero, MYOB or an equivalent financial system.
TasTAFE is not eligible to apply as a lead applicant but can partner with other eligible applicants under the Fund. Organisations are also encouraged to contact TasTAFE directly to discuss options for TasTAFE to deliver training under its existing funding arrangements.
Tasmanian school-based RTOs (schools as defined in the Tasmanian Education Act 2016) are not eligible for funding under existing Skills Tasmania funding arrangements.
Learner eligibility
To be eligible for an Apprentice and Trainee Training Fund training place, learners must meet the requirements of the Skills Tasmania Learner Eligibility for Government Training Subsidies Policy Statement and be an apprentice or trainee with a registered training contract in Tasmania.
