Train Now Fund

This program is designed to support businesses and existing workers impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Train Now Fund will provide subsidised training to:

  • ensure employers who have urgent training needs can access funding support
  • improve the likelihood of businesses remaining sustainable
  • increase the future productivity of the business to support economic recovery and growth
  • increase the skill level and future employability of employees who remain with their employer, through completion of nationally recognised training.

1Eligibility for the fund

Any Endorsed RTO can apply for the Train Now Fund program in partnership with an employer or an industry association. The Train Now Fund grant round has a range of eligibility, application and grant conditions that the applicant and partners must meet, including:

  • The Endorsed RTO must have the qualifications/skill sets/units of competency on their scope of registration.
  • The Endorsed RTO must be financially viable at the time of applying for and for the duration of any subsequent funding agreement.
  • The applicant must provide evidence of the partnership with the employer or industry association.
  • The existing workers who undertake the training must not be eligible for an apprenticeship or traineeship.

3Applying for the Train Now Fund

Before starting an application, it is highly recommended that you:

Read the RTO Guide; and attend the information session.

To apply for this grant you will need to use the SmartyGrants online application form - https://skills.smartygrants.com.au/train_now_fund.

If this is the first time you have used SmartyGrants you will need to follow the instructions to become a registered user.
