Why choose VET to train your staff?

Vocational education and training (VET) is a beneficial choice to upskill your staff, employ an apprentice or trainee, or develop your workforce to meet future needs.

Here are some of the reasons why.

1Courses are nationally recognised and quality assured

Nationally recognised training, or ‘accredited training’ as it is sometimes known, has met nationally agreed standards and is part of the national training system delivered and certified by registered training providers. You can feel confident that the training you receive is quality assured and will be recognised by your industry.

2A skilled workforce is more productive and confident

Providing your staff with skills, whether they be new skills or upgrading existing skills, will be worth the investment. Training improves confidence in their ability to be able to perform workplace duties and the more skilled they are, the more productive and efficient they will become.

3VET programs are industry led and supported

The Australian VET system is industry-led and supported meaning that industry have had input into the training that is delivered and recognise the qualifications that are awarded.

4VET programs cover all industries

VET courses cover all industries. The MySkills website is a great source of information about the different industries, training courses and Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) that deliver those courses.

Industries included on the MySkills website:

Agriculture & Food Processing

5VET programs are tailored to your needs

VET qualifications can in some cases be tailored to your business needs. Speak to a RTO to see if they can help.

6Government funding and grants are available

Government funding and grants are available for nationally recognised training that is delivered through an Endorsed Registered Training Organisation. For more information about whether training for your organisation would be funded, speak to an Endorsed RTO.

Finding a course

You can check with or MySkills to find what courses are available or speak to a RTO who may be able to tailor training to your needs.

MySkills allows you to search by Course, Occupation, Location, Training Provider and/or Industry and also filter results. For example, if you just want to search for a certain qualification or courses for apprentices.
