Workforce Development Grants

Workforce Development Grants Program

The 2017-18 round opens Saturday, 30 September 2017

The Department of State Growth invites eligible organisations to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) for funding to support workforce planning, workforce development planning and workforce development implementation in priority regions, communities and industries.

The objectives of the Program are to:

  1. Analyse and identify the current and future workforce needs of the Tasmanian economy; and
  2. Support industry, community and regional engagement in workforce development planning and implementation.

Priority industries are:

  • Aged and Community Services
  • Disability Services
  • Construction (including civil construction)
  • Agriculture
  • Hospitality
  • ICT
  • Manufacturing, including advanced manufacturing and defence
  • Seafood
  • Transport

Application Process

Applications will be open from 9:00 am Saturday, 30 September 2017.

The application process will be conducted via an online grant application service, powered by the SmartyGrants platform via the browser of your choosing.

As the Program supports projects with varying degrees of complexity and risk, applicants will be required to complete and upload, in addition to the online form, three templates:

  2. WfD Grant Program 2017-18 Project Schedule Template          
  3. Workforce Development Grant Program 2017-18 Budget Template

Workforce Development Grants Program 2016-17 

The Workforce Development Grants Program funds projects to improve workforce participation and productivity; to assist industry and regional bodies to build workforce development capability; to design and implement workforce strategies and plans; to foster collaboration between industry and regional development bodies, enterprises and training organisations and to implement innovative models for skills and workforce development.
