Apprenticeships and Traineeships are employment based training arrangements where an apprentice or trainee has the opportunity to combine employment with training and can be full-time, part-time or school-based. See What are apprentieships/traineeships? for more information about apprenticeships/traineeships and the types available.
The method by which registered training organisations (RTOs) provide training and assessment to apprentices and trainees depends on the learning style of the individual, the needs of their employer and which qualification is being sought. RTOs are required to develop training plans, in consultation with the employer and the apprentice or trainee, which outlines how, when, where and by who the training and assessment will be provided. More details about training plan requirements can be found in the Tasmanian Training Agreements Committee (TTAC) policies.
A list of all available funded, non-funded and school-based apprenticeship and traineeship qualifications in Tasmania are available from the Approved apprenticeships/traineeships in Tasmania page. Providers can also apply for a qualification to be added to the Tasmanian Apprenticeships and Traineeships listing.
For additional information, which is not only aimed at training providers, but apprentices/trainees and their employers as well, visit the Information about apprenticeships/traineeships page.
