This policy is designed to ensure that expenditure on government-funded building and construction projects helps to maintain skills in the industry.

Contractors and sub-contractors on building and construction projects are required to utilise apprentices and trainees for a minimum of 20% of the labour required on-site and off-site for work undertaken on Tasmanian Government contracts.

Contractors and sub-contractors on civil construction projects are required to allocate a minimum of 10% of the labour required on-site and off-site for work undertaken on Tasmanian Government contracts to apprentices, trainees and other workplace training.
