WorldSkills 2018 Competitors

WorldSkills National Championships, Sydney, 2 - 4 June 2018

Team Tasmania shines at National Championships!

Tasmania’s best and brightest apprentices and trainees have claimed nine medals at the 2018 WorldSkills National Championships in Sydney last week, with six gold, a silver and two bronze medals won by the 17 person Tasmanian team.

The success of our apprentices and trainees also meant Team Tasmania was awarded the Evatt Shield for best performing region, based on the aggregate scores of all competitors from each region of Australia.

This year’s win makes it the fourth time Tasmania has won the Evatt Shield. Everyone at Skills Tasmania is very proud of our team members and our brilliant Team Leaders: Rachel Sullivan, Jai Maluga and Matt Barratt.

Eight of our medallists are TasTAFE trained while our Floristry gold medal winner, Phoebe Martin, was trained at Marjorie Milner College in Melbourne.
