Tasmanian Training Agreements Committee (TTAC)

The Tasmanian Training Agreements Committee (TTAC) was established under the Vocational Education and Training Act 1994.
TTAC is an eight person committee. It issues guidelines and procedures for the operation of vocational placements and training agreements, and provides advice to the Skills Tasmania Board on these matters. The committee may conciliate or arbitrate disputes arising from the terms, conditions and operation of training agreements.

TTAC is supported by staff of Skills Tasmania who provide:

  • advice and support to employers, apprentices, trainees, registered training organisations and Australian Apprenticeships Centres
  • approval of new apprenticeship and traineeship qualifications (including funding where appropriate)

TTAC's clients are:

  • employers
  • apprentices and trainees
  • registered training organisations

TTAC Policies

From 2001, TTAC developed a set of policies for the purpose of the uniform administration of training agreements, and the fair and equitable treatment of parties to those training agreements. Each policy is considered against TTAC’s powers conferred to it by the Vocational Education and Training Act 1994. TTAC Policies, including any recent amendments or new policies, are listed below:
