Good news stories
Skills Tasmania is always on the lookout for 'Good news stories' that illustrate a positive outcome within the VET system and which we can share with other providers and participants. This page has good news stories, as well as information on the kind of stories Skills Tasmania is after and how to submit them.
Tasmanian Skills Strategy
The Tasmanian Skills Strategy guides investment to match our state’s skills needs. It focuses on how opportunities to develop skills in Tasmania will be strengthened, and how threats to that aim will be managed. This focus is inherent through the four themes of the strategy: increasing opportunity; a better system for clients; workforce development; and skills for the future.
Adult Literacy Programs
The Adult Literacy Community Grants Program and Employer Pledge Program provide funding to community organisations, employers, industry associations and registered training organisations to improve literacy in workplaces and the community.
2012 Skills Tasmania Conference
Includes information regarding this year's Conference, as well as conference outcomes from previous years; links, notes and videos to some of the presentations (keynote speakers, workshops and panel discussions).
Productivity Places Program+
Funds the delivery of qualification based training to both job seekers and existing workers, which is delivered in an industry-driven system, ensuring that training is responsive to both the needs of business and of participants
VET workers Professional Development program
Organised directly through Skills Tasmania, the Vocational Education and Training (VET) workers Professional Development program includes workshops, which are aimed at VET practitioners to develop and enhance their professional skills and knowledge while providing a networking opportunity with other practitioners in the VET industry.
North West and Northern Tasmania Skills Initiative
This initiative aims to assist people in the North West and Northern Tasmania who have lost their jobs because of retrenchment, closures or company downsizing. The aim of the program is to help these people to update or acquire new skills to gain employment.
