A principal activity of an industry liaison officer is to consult with industry representatives, groups and individuals. Their main function is to gather and convert industry intelligence into useable information, amongst others, for: training demand analyses (by industry or region); and Training Package review and implementation. Skills Tasmania has Training Consultants located through Tasmania. Consultants are available in Hobart, Launceston and Devonport to assist Australian Apprenticeships Centre staff deal with training contract amendments, and provide advice and guidance to apprentices/trainees.
