Competitive Tendering Programs

Skills Tasmania supports the maintenance of a diverse and open market for the provision of vocational education and training. The competitive tendering purchasing mechanism enables training organisations to submit tenders for the delivery of a range of specified training programs. Tasmanian Skills Investment Program (TasSkills)

The Tasmanian Skills Investment Program (TasSkills) is designed to meet the skills development needs of Tasmanian industries, enterprises, communities and individuals as identified through Tasmania's Vocational Education and Training planning processes.  These processes are informed by:

  • Tasmania Together
  • Tasmania's industry development plan
  • Tasmania - A State of Learning, and
  • Skills Tasmania's industry liaison activities.

Although the TasSkills program is a competitive tender, cooperation between training organisations or training organisations and industry is encouraged.  Partnerships or joint ventures, where two or more training organisations cooperate for a particular purpose, can be a very practical way of overcoming many of the problems that face both public and private training organisations in a competitive process.

Skills Equip

Skills Equip is an annual equity focussed competitive tendering program for the delivery of accredited training.

All registered training organisations are eligible to submit a proposal under the Skills Equip program.
