Australian Apprenticeships Centres (AACs) are contracted by the Commonwealth Government to provide information, advice and support to employers, apprentices and trainees about apprenticeships and traineeships. They assist with the sign up of training contracts, as well as assess, approve and process the payment of Commonwealth incentives.

The Guide for Australian Apprenticeships Centres [Word 145KB] and the Guidelines for Australian Apprenticeships Centres – preparing training contracts in Tasmania [Word 280KB] provide information for AACs to assist them in the preparation, lodgement and subsequent management of training contracts in accordance with the requirements of Tasmanian legislation and policy. They support Australian Apprenticeships Centre staff access up-to-date guidelines to assist in the sign-up process and all other amendments throughout the training contract.

User Choice contract holders
This list provides information on the RTOs who have a current User Choice agreement with Skills Tasmania and who are able to receive User Choice subsidies for eligible apprentices or trainees.
The Vocational Education and Training Act 1994 establish and grants powers to Skills Tasmania and the Tasmanian Training Agreements committee and provides the legislative authority for the administration of apprenticeships, traineeships and vocational placements. It contains provision regarding inquiries, inspections and disputes.

TraingNet – access individuals’ apprentice/trainee contract information
TrainingNet is a web-based system provided by Skills Tasmania to allow the exchange of information between Skills Tasmania, AACs, GTOs, RTOs and schools. The information is restricted to training contracts of apprentices, trainees and their employers
