  • Delivery of training in 2010
    Tenders are now open for Skills Equip and TasSkills for the delivery of training in 2010. Tenders will be open for three weeks, closing at 2.00pm on Friday 30 October 2009. For more information visit the Skills Equip or TasSkills tender pages. (added October 2009)
  • Training subsidies available to individuals and employers
    Information regarding training incentives for both individuals and employers, which is collated and organised into an easy to access table, is maintained regularly.

Vocational Education and Training (VET) provides people with skills and knowledge needed in the workplace for jobs in particular industries, including construction, hospitality, agriculture, community services, recreation, administration, IT and many others. Often these skills are gained both through a training organisation and in the workplace.

Vocational education and training (VET) is a national system. A VET qualification gained in Tasmania is recognised throughout Australia by employers and VET providers. The Tasmanian VET system is administered by Skills Tasmania.

VET Service Providers
Information for vocational education and training providers including: Registered Training Organisations (RTOs), Australian Apprenticeships Centres (AACs) and Group Training Organisations (GTOs).

Employers
Information for prospective and existing employers on how to recruit apprentices/trainees, train your own staff or use registered training organisations to deliver nationally recognised training.

Learners
Information for anyone wishing to or already undertaking vocational education and training (VET), whether you're an apprentice/trainee, a senior secondary school student undertaking a VET in schools qualification; someone wishing to gain accredited training or an existing employee who wants to have their existing skills recognised.
