Supporting Small Business

Supporting Small Business with Apprenticeships and Traineeships Program

The Supporting Small Business with Apprenticeships and Traineeships Program is a new grant program that aims to make it easier for small businesses to employ an apprentice or trainee. The Program will run over two years and has been allocated $600,000 in funding.

Small businesses are vital to Tasmania’s economy, comprising 96% of business in Tasmania. These businesses require support to continue to grow and improve their productivity.

Small businesses with less than 20 employees will be able to obtain practical assistance to employ an apprentice or trainee through providers selected through this grant application.

Eligible small businesses will be able to access a range of support customised to their needs.

Services may include:

  • assistance with obtaining business advice
  • support to recruit the right person for the business
