Rapid Response Skills Initiative

The Tasmanian Government provides financial support for training to people who have lost their jobs because they have been made redundant, the place they worked has closed or had to let staff go.

Information on this page is aimed at retrenched workers and career advisers. Formal Guidelines for the Rapid Response Skills Initiative are available for jobactive providers, career advisers or anyone who is referring clients to this program.

Information for retrenched workers

Rapid Response funding can be used:

  • to pay for training and assistance (up to $3,000) to improve job prospects
  • for career advice, to help you decide on the best training for you (up to $500).

Some Rapid Response applicants do not have access to informed career advice. For this reason Skills Tasmania has developed a Rapid Response Register of Career Advisors, which applicants will be referred to. If you want to apply for the funding available for career advice, please refer to this register and contact a career adviser.

Read the Fact Sheet for information on the Rapid Response program.
