Services offered by an RTO

RTOs may offer a range of services to your business including:

  • skills analysis which identifies the skills needed to perform the functions in your business;
  • individual staff training needs which is based on the skills analysis. The RTO will identify the specific training needs for each staff member;
  • recognition of prior learning which identifies and certifies the existing skills and knowledge of your staff;
  • developing a training/learning program based on the outcome of the staff training needs;
  • customisation of qualifications which can be tailored to suit your needs;
  • training – the RTO may conduct training programs and facilitate learning;
  • resources – the RTO can develop resources in line with the training program;
  • assessment – assesses the competency of your staff;
  • issue qualifications which will be nationally recognised.

Training and assessment services can be delivered in a wide range of modes:

  • classroom instruction;
  • workplace tasks;
  • use of work books;
  • computer based learning;
  • self pace learning;
  • group assignments;

or a combination of the above.

The learning and assessment can take place in your workplace, either on-the-job or training facility or at the RTO's premises.

Your RTO should be able recommend the best mix for your staff.
