As with any commercial arrangement, problems may arise. It is important that these are brought to the attention of the RTO as soon as possible.
Every RTO must have documented processes for dealing with complaints, grievances, appeals and disputes. You can ask to see any of these documents.
If a problem is not dealt to your satisfaction you can contact the Tasmanian Qualifications Authority (TQA).
What sort of problems might arise?
- Timing of the training doesn’t fit in my work schedule;
- Training material is not suitable for my staff;
- Not enough contact and support from the RTO;
- Insufficient progress reports;
- Program not keeping to the timelines;
- Additional costs not outlined in the contract;
- Insufficient time for staff to learn;
- Your RTO ceases operations.
Any of these problems are easier to solve earlier rather than letting them grow and become difficult to handle.
