Tasmania makes a distinction between apprenticeships and trainees. However, in relation to the Australian Apprenticeships scheme, all trainees and apprentices are referred to as ‘Australian Apprentices’.
In Tasmania, an apprenticeship is generally up to 4 years, and most traineeships are 12-24 months.
